A brief bit of history: Hornby is an old established British Company founded by Frank Hornby in 1920 featuring O gauge trains. A smaller gauge OO (Scale 1:76) was released by Hornby in 1938 and has remained as the most popular gauge to date. Originally named Hornby Dublo, it was a play on words for Hornby OO (Double O). Most brands of British model railways are now OO, however the rest of the world use HO (Scale 1:87) or half O. The Flying Scotsman is probably the best known Hornby locomotive.
