Very few cars manage to change the automobile world like the Miura. With its posterior longitudinal engine V12 and fascinating body, designed by Marcello Gandini for Bertone, the two-seater redefined the concept of a sports car. At its debut the Miura was the fastest production car in the world: With a speed over 280 kph and an acceleration from 0-100 kph in 5,1 seconds the Lamborghini Miura set new standards in the sports car segment. The original Miura P400 was produced between 1966 and 1968, but the success story did not end there: The Miura was first developed further into the Miura S (1968-1971) with 370 HP and later into the Miura SV (1971-1973), which had wider mud guards and a greatly revamped 385 HP engine with separate lubricating systems for engine and gearbox.

The R5 obtained great results in the Sanremo and Montecarlo Rallies in 1978 and successively gratifying results in the Acropolis Rally and in Africa.

The use of multiple rocket launchers by the German Armed Forces during World War II was quite extensive due to low cost and high efficiency of these arms systems. The main inconvenience of these vehicles was scarce mobility which made them vulnerable to enemy counter attacks. Thus, this mobile version of a 150 mm rocket-launcher type 42 was mounted on a half-truck Sd. Kfz. 4 Maultier, which guaranteed high mobility in off-road conditions. The vehicle was equipped with armour to protect its crew.

The hull was copied after the preceding L3/33 and the new machine was powered by an SPA 18D 70 cv engine which gave it a maximum speed of 42 Km/hr. It was armed with a Breda 20mm canon and a huge machinegun. Even though it could already be considered obsolete from the moment it went into production, it was nonetheless used in Africa, Russia, the Balkans and in Italy. Manyn of them were captured by the Germans after the armistice and used directly, or supplied by, the Italian Socialist Republic.

The Armored Recovery Vehicles (ARV), were introduced during the Second World War. They were built on the hulls of existing armored vehicles, removing the main armament and the turret and installing of specific equipment for the recovery or repair of armoured fighting vehicles damaged in battle. The American M-32 ARV was based on the chassis of the well-known Sherman A-4 medium tank and it was used by U.S. Army in the European Theater of Operations during the Second World War. It  was characterized by the superstructure that permitted to lift and to trail the damaged tanks. Furthermore on M-32 a wide set of repairing tools and spare parts were loaded on board emphasizing its role of real “mobile armoured workshop” capable of operating on the front line. The M-32 was even able to perform complex operation as the replacing of the tank engine. The M-32, after the end of WWII, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and it was used by many Countries until the ‘90s.

Italeri 1/48 F-104 G/S Starfighter Plastic Model Kit

The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter, with its slender fuselage and the very little wing surface, has been for a lot of years the reference fighter of the Aeronautica Militare Italiana. Thanks to the thrust of its General Electric J79 afterburning turbojet engine, it could exceed Mach 2,2 with an excellent rate of climb. During the years of its operational service, several fighter squadrons of Aeronautica Militare, realized unique commemorative livery, with a strong an amazing visual impact. The adoption of particular liverys was used both for the celebrations of the fighter squadron flying activity and history, such as the F-104G Streghe (Witches) made in 1989 by the 3° Stormo located in Verona Villafranca using the colors of the 28° Gruppo, or  to commemorate important  events on the mass culture. About this second category one of the best known is the fantastic F-104G “Rosso 27”, made by the 4° Stormo 20° Gruppo, located in Grosseto, that adopted the Ferrari Red livery and the number 27 in memory of the Canadian F1 champion Gilles Villeneuve. Donated by Aeronautica Militare to Ferrari the “Rosso 27” is the "gate guardian" at the Fiorano track.

Italeri 1/56 Char B1 BIS

WWll FRENCH AND GERMAN MILITARY VEHICLE (28 mm.) - EASY ASSEMBLY FOR GAMERS
AND COLLECTORS

The “Char de Bataille” B1 was the main heavy tank used by the French Army during World War II. The original project was set up in the mid-1920s (many technical solutions adopted as the large tracks are derived from the First World War main tanks) but the delivery to the French Army started only in the mid-30s. Massive and robust, Char B1 was improved in “bis” version to increase its operational effectiveness. It was armed with the 47 mm gun, located in the small turret, and the 75 mm howitzer located in the hull. The tank was characterized by a strong armour able to provide a good protection. However the heavy weight negatively affected the speed (28 Km/h) and the on road and off road maneuverability . Even if it was a good tank for those times, the Char B1 bis was deployed to support the infantry Divisions  and not in Tanks Divisions. Due to this it was impossible to compete against the German Panzer Divisions during the French Campaign on 1940. After the fall of France a certain number of Char B1 has been used by German Army. Most of them became platforms for flamethrowers and known as PzKpfw B1 Bis (f) flamm.

Italeri 1/72 Civil War Farmhouse Battle Plastic Model Kit

American Civil War was fought from 1861 to 1865 between the United States of America and the Confederate States of America. The war broke out in April 1861 when the Confederates attacked Fort Sumter. The “Civil War” brought several changes in the military history as the involvement of a new industrial system, focused on war production, or the use of new and deadly military technologies. The Union troops and the Confederate troops clashed in many of battles, entered in history books as Bull Run, Antietam, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg. War ended in April 1865, when the General Lee’s Confederate Army surrendered in Appomattox. Finally, after the war, the diplomacy started to work with the purpose of rebuilding American National unity and of reunifying those people that fought, on opposite sides, for four years.
