Scheich Moose Bull SC14619 Scheich Moose Bull SC14619
$18.99
Available to order

Description

Known as elk in Europe, moose are the largest of all the deer family. These large animals have elaborate forking antlers and long dark brown hair. They live in northern forests where alder, aspen, and willows abound. Moose are particularly well adapted to cold weather and prefer to live where summer temperatures dont get any hotter than sixty degrees. They eat newly grown leaves, as well as the tips of twigs. Their twelve sets of broad teeth at the rear of the mouth, six pairs of molars and six pairs of premolars, help them grind up even the toughest woody plants. Their rutting (or breeding) season lasts from early September to late October. Each year during the rut they lose their antlers; they then re-grow another set during the winter that follows. Most of the year, moose stay away from people, but during rutting season theyve been known to charge people, cars, and even houses!

Schleich - Asian Elephant Male Schleich - Asian Elephant Male
$16.99

Description

Asian elephants look similar to African elephants, but with shorter tusks and smaller ears. These elephants never stay more than a few days in one place and have different habitants which are, however, always near thicket forests. Asian elephants live in family groups made up of two to ten elephants. Like with African elephants, the groups are led by an alpha female who makes sure that all members of the herd follow the groups rules. Experts think that elephants, thanks to their large brains, can empathize with other herd members and are able to retain information with ease such as the difference between individuals, memories of a drought or the location of good feeding grounds.

The Asian Elephant Male measures approximately 4.5 inches.

Part of the Wild Life Series by Schleich. The art work and detail are beautiful on this hand painted figure.

Approximately 1:20 scale.

Made of durable synthetic material. Hand Painted.
