Description

Mot-Schützen Kompanie ()includes one Command MPi KM Assault Rifle team, ten MPi KM Assault Rifle teams with RPG-18, nine RPG-7 Anti-tank teams, two PKM LMG teams, one Small three-hole base, nine Small two-hole bases, ten Medium four-hole bases, two Large six-hole bases, one base-plug sprue & six Unit cards.

The Russian BMP-1 is the successor to Germany's ground-breaking Hanomag halftrack of the Second World War. It carries theSchützeninto battle in relative safety, then gives them fire support as they launch their attack.

Mounting an AT-3 Sagger missile, the BMP-1 also protects the infantry from enemy panzers.

The company's riflemen are armed with the classic AKM assault rifle, orMPi KM(Maschinenpistole Kalashnikow Modernisiert) submachine-gun as the East Germans called them. Each squad is also equipped with an RPK squad automatic weapon, disposable RPG-18 anti-tank rockets, and the powerful RPG-7 anti-tank rocket launcher.

The company is backed up by a platoon of six belt-fed PKM machine-guns, as well as AGS-17 30mm grenade launchers, all mounted in BMPs.

With the threat of war looming the companies have had their oldStrela-2anti-aircraft missiles replaced with newerStrela-3(Arrow-3) aircraft missiles (known as SA-14 Gremlin in the West). These are deployed in a squad, mounted in another BMP, attached from the battalion's air defence platoon.
