When Frontline Hobbies began way back in 1978, we started out in a ten square metre shop selling model soldiers under the name Mainly Military. About ten years later, we changed our name to Frontline Hobbies to reflect our expanding range of hobby supplies such as model building, model railways and radio control, but still kept that nod to our military origins. 

Today, we’ve expanded into Australia’s largest hobby store and still offer a massive range of military modelling supplies including model military aircraft, model military ships and of course, model soldiers.

Do you offer free shipping on plastic military models?

We offer free shipping on all orders over $150 (to metro areas only) and a flat shipping rate of $9.95 on all other orders throughout Australia. We also offer a free click and collect service for local orders. To take advantage of our click and collect option, simply select “free pickup from store” as your shipping method at checkout. 

What if the military model I’m looking for is out of stock?

You may notice a red “Sold Out - Backorder Available” label on some of our military plastic models. This means that the item is currently not in stock at our store. 

If an item that you need has a sold out label on it, we may still be able to source it for you. Please get in touch with our team and we’ll gladly contact our suppliers and provide you with an estimated arrival date on your products. 

What supplies will I need for plastic military modelling?

The hobby tools and supplies you’ll need for plastic military modelling will vary from product to product. Some products come ready assembled while others require assembly, painting and finishing. As a general guide you will need the following items:

• Plastic model kit glue
• A sprue cutter 
• A hobby knife
• A cutting mat
• Paint and brushes
