Description

The Type 95 was the main tank adopted in 1935. The "C" is a secret name, given in the order of development, and indicates the third tank developed in the Iroha order. In the 1930s, the Type 89 was slow and unsatisfactory in pursuit. In addition, the gun was a low initial velocity gun for infantry support and insufficient for anti-tank use. The gun was also required to be inexpensive because it was thought to be needed in certain quantities.

The maximum armor was set at 12mm, as it was considered sufficient to resist machine-gun fire at the time of its prosperity. When production began, its high mobility was highly evaluated, but later it struggled due to weak defense and ineffective guns, but it was deployed to all fronts and fought well as the mainstay of the Japanese army, although it suffered.

The Beiman type was equipped with small auxiliary rolling wheels in the center of the bogie, which reduced mobility when traveling in the coriander fields of northern China due to the ridges between the rolling wheels. As the name suggests, this type was deployed by the Kwantung Army in Manchuria and was used in the Battle of Nomonhan. It was also sent to the south at the end of the war and used until the end of the war.
