Tips to make your RC body shells a success

While RC body shells add an extra layer of protection to your vehicles, there are a few steps you’ll need to take to ensure the original paint job looks awesome and isn’t easily damaged.

We recommend all RC body shells be cleaned before being clipped onto your vehicle to ensure no dust, dirt, or debris gets trapped between the shell and the original paint job. This goes for both pre-coloured and designed RC body shells as well as our clear plastic shells.

Use warm soapy water and a lint-free cloth to clean the inside and outside of the shell for good measure. Alternatively, use a microfibre cloth to quickly and effectively remove any dust.

We also generally recommend modelling scissors and a hobby knife to trim down the shell before you get started on painting. It can also be helpful to use a sanding block to smooth out the edges. This will ensure there aren’t any jagged edges or obstructions when the vehicle’s wheels are turning.

Otherwise, once this has been complete, you’ll be ready for painting and zooming around race tracks, or even just around your driveway!
