Description

Hojo Railway is a third sector railway that connects Ao and Hojo Town in Hyogo Prefecture, and was established in April 1985 by converting from the Japanese National Railways Hojo Line. The Kiha 40-535 type is a former JR (Japan National Railways) diesel car that was introduced to Hojo Railway for the purpose of increasing transportation capacity. It was delivered to Hojo Railway in December 2021, and since then preparations have been made for the start of operation, and commercial operation began on March 13, 2022.
